What Is Solo School 2.0 ?
Solo School 2.0 is an online training community platform for like-minded guitarists
who want to solo better -
with more melody, more phrasing, and more confidence.
It’s for players who already know the shapes, the licks, the scales…
but still feel stuck when it’s time to improvise.
You’ve watched all the YouTube tutorials, taken the courses, learned the theory
but it’s all floating around in separate folders in your brain, and none of it shows up when you play.
You’re overwhelmed with too much content. No focus, and no structure.
That’s where Solo School 2.0 is different.
It brings everything together under one clear, structured system —
something completely original that I’ve spent the last year building from the ground up.
This isn’t a recycled curriculum or some random lick/lesson library.
It’s a brand new approach to melodic soloing that trains phrasing, note choice, chord tone targeting, and musical instincts -
all through real practice over real backing tracks, with a community and a coach to guide you every step of the way.
You get FULL ACCESS to me inside Solo School 2.0
I’ve been teaching guitar for over a decade. I can spot the weakness in your playing in seconds and tell you exactly what to work on next.
Over the past year, I’ve helped Solo School members:
Improve their timing
Fix phrasing issues they didn’t even know they had
Finally get theory that never clicked before
Play more melodically
Overcome technical blocks with custom exercises
And build real confidence in their improvisation
And a lot more.. (you can see all old feedback posts when you join Solo School)
You’ll get access to all of that— PLUS the new training system I created that actually automates melodic soloing for you.
Within your first hour of joining Solo School, you’ll understand how this works, and you’ll be playing
more musically - with real phrasing and creativity - and playing more melodically than you’ve ever played before.
All within your first hour of joining Solo School 2.0
That’s what makes this different.
It’s like having me as your private teacher.
I know every student by name. I give personal feedback. And I genuinely want every single member to figure this out and finally sound good when they solo.
And the best part is that Solo School is a community-first platform.
You’re not doing this alone.
You’ll be learning alongside other guitarists just like you, going through the same struggles, solving the same problems.
Some who have been playing over 20 years,
some who have been playing for 5 years.
But they all wanted the same thing:
Every other guitar membership tries to sell you on their “massive content library.”
Hundreds of hours of lessons. Endless topics. Click click click.
Solo School 2.0 is the complete opposite of that.
Because what I’ve learned from students who were in all those other programs is..
none of that stuff actually helped them sound better.
It was too much. Too scattered. No path forward.
In Solo School, you still get access to:
Every course I’ve ever released
All the previous Zoom call recordings
Archive of mini lessons
A year’s worth of student solos, feedback threads, and deep discussions
But that’s not the point of Solo School.
That’s all extra. That’s for when you want to explore on your own - for fun.
The real value is in:
1) The structured Soloing System I invented
—that will train phrasing and chord tone targeting until it becomes automatic
2) The coaching, support, and community feedback
you’ll get from me and the group every step of the way
I’ve worked extremely hard to make sure version 2 of Solo School is the most dialed-in, effective, and supportive training system I’ve ever built.
Everything is thought-out.
The platform is clean and intuitive.
Everything is focused on results.
You’re going to love being part of this community - because every single person in here is just like you.
And don’t forget:
That means you’ll be helping shape the direction of the training.
Giving input. Influencing how it evolves.
No one else will get that opportunity.
Future students will just go through the recordings.
You’ll be part of the most personal, direct, and transformational version of Solo School that will ever exist.
So if you’ve been looking for a way to finally solo with confidence…
If you want to play more melodically, with more intention and feel…
If you want to interact with me personally,
get feedback on your playing,
and finally enjoy the way your solos sound..
This is it.
This is the program you’ve been waiting for. This is what's missing.
And because I want to give everyone real attention and feedback, I’m keeping this group
very small.
Enrolment closes Sunday May 11.
But if we hit the cap before then, I’ll shut it down early.
If you miss it, you’ll have to wait until the next time I open the doors, a few months from now.

"I feel like Roy is MY guitar teacher"
"Roy's Solo School is a really great place to study guitar. Roy clearly cares about his students, and he is a fantastic teacher with an excellent ear to immediately pick out weaknesses in your playing.
His advice has really helped me build better soloing technique. Solo School not only has a wealth of practice videos and courses, but also nice tools to upload media files and videos for Roy to review and comment on.
It also has a growing community of students, who are happy to talk about their playing technique as well as guitars, gear, and even recent events they've attended.
Perhaps most importantly, in Solo School, I feel like Roy is my guitar teacher. I can ask questions, get advice, and learn from one of the most impressive guitarists in the world."

Guitarists who already know their shapes, scales, licks, and some theory - but still feel stuck when improvising. If you’ve taken courses, watched tutorials, and still can’t solo the way you want to sound, this is for you.
Most students have been playing between 3 - 20+ years.
Every call is recorded and uploaded. You’ll never miss out on the insights, and you can always ask questions in the community beforehand, that I can then answer on the zoom call live - and you can watch the recoding later.
You can join quarterly (every 3 months) or annually (save almost $200). Most of the current Solo School students are on Annual plans, but 3 Months is enough time to see real transformation without a full year commitment.
You can cancel anytime in your dashboard.
Not really. Solo School is designed for a player who already knows basic scales, chords, and theory. It’s not for total beginners.
If you've been playing less than 2 years, this program is not for you.
If you can play the Pentatonic scale very well, a few licks, maybe another scale or to, and you know how to bend, then you'll do fine in this program.
It's an ongoing membership. If you choose quarterly (every 3 months) you'll be charged every 3 months until you cancel. You can cancel on your own in your dashboard.
If you join the Annual plan, you'll be charged once every year, unless you cancel before hand.
Most programs throw a mountain of content at you and leave you to figure it out. Solo School gives you clear structure, live guidance, a powerful system that actually works, and a supportive community to go through it with. It’s about internalizing the skill of improvisation , not just collecting more info.
As far as I know, no program like this exists, and the few students who have already gone through my new system have all said they've never seen anything like it, and instantly sounded more melodic.
It took me YEARS to figure out HOW to teach improvisation, and it took me almost a year to figure out how to implement it into a system that is easy to follow.
But aside from all that, you can literally ask me any questions you want.
A few students have told me that the only reason they stay subscribed, is because of the feedback I give them, or the answers to their questions.
Most players start hearing real improvement in their solos within the first few weeks, but the full transformation usually happens over a 3-month period. That’s why Solo School is set up as a quarterly membership. So you can actually go deep, build muscle memory, and internalize the system instead of rushing through it.
You can cancel anytime after three months, but most of the current students in Solo School have been members for an average of 8 months, and most of them are on an annual plan.
This won’t compete. It’ll enhance everything else. It’s not about learning more, it’s about applying what you already know through structure and real practice.
The system is designed for busy guitarists. Whenever you have a few minutes to practice, you turn on the system, and follow along.
You don't need to think, you just follow, and all the practice and muscle building and technique and automation will happen in real time.
Yes, you can always cancel your membership by clicking "cancel" inside your dashboard. It's very easy.
If you're on the quarterly plan, you can cancel anytime before your next billing cycle (3 months from now) and if you're on the annual plan, you can cancel anytime before the year ends.
If you go through the training, do the exercises, and still don’t feel like you’ve improved by the end of your membership, I’ll personally work with you until you do. That’s how confident I am in this system. This isn’t a course you buy and forget. This is a structured, guided program — and if you show up, you’ll get results.
To be honest — even if you just watch the videos without playing, you’ll start to improve. Obviously, the more you play along, the faster you’ll grow. But just seeing how phrasing, note choice, and targeting work in real time — with clear explanations — will completely change how you think about soloing.
It’s that powerful.
