The dark red silkscreen paint lettering was custom mixed to match the original text color on Roy's 2005 limited edition. Paired with a Buttercream headstock that matches the body.
Music Man vintage two-point tremolo with the exposed bridge lip. Newer Music Man models use a covered, plated bridge - but the Silhouette Special is the only guitar that still has this classic open design. Roy often uses the lip to 'lift' the bridge instead of the trem arm.

Battery-powered active silent circuit on both single coil pickups. All the shimmer and clarity of single coils, with none of the noise. Powered by a 9V in the back.
DiMarzio Virtual PAF Humbucker, and two custom Hand-Wound Single Coils. The same HSS pickup configuration from Roy's original. Warm, strat-like cleans in the neck and middle. Serious power and drive in the bridge.
Roy has used these pickups for everything from jazz, funk, and soulful cleans to overdriven heavy metal recordings. They kill in every genre.

Roasted maple neck is heat trated for stabiltiy and a smoother feel, finished in gunstock oil and hand-rubbed wax. Rosewood fingerboard for a warm full tone, and 22 high profile, stainless steel frets.

Roy's 2005 original required precise saddle placement to stay properly intonated. The compensated nut fixes that. It's cut at slightly varied angles for each string, so intonation stays accurate no matter where you're playing on the fretboard.
Roy's original nickel frets warped over the years and needed rework. This time, they are stainless steel - harder, smoother, and they'll outlast nickel by decades.
Roy's 2005 had standard white maple. Instead, these necks went through a heat treatment process that seals in the wood's natural sugars and removes moisture. That means less warping and less sensitivity to weather and humidity

This is the closest thing to a signature guitar I’ve ever done. Ernie Ball Music Man built these specifically for this release.
This guitar plays better and feels smoother than my 2005 model, but sounds identical.
